A restaurant in Washington, DC dedicated to F. Coppi and his career.

This is a contribution from James Leon McArdle and David Kirsch

I thought you might want to know of a resturant in Wash, DC dedicated to F. Coppi and his career.  It is located on "U"st NW between 15th and 16th streets.  The walls are literally covered with photos and clippings of him.  They serve Good traditional (american) italian food with a few trendy style pizzas as well.

The restaurant also sponsors a local team of riders, as well as lend their name to a downtown criterium. The Classico Coppi is actually a lot of fun since it is held at the same time as the U Street festival, ensuring a crowd of literally thousands.  The owner of the restaurant comes from San Remo, where his father owned a restaurant as well.  Many of the pictures on the wall are of the winners of Milan-San Remo, most of which were taken by the current owners father.  He has one of his father with Coppi, and I believe one of Coppi in his father's restaurant as well.

Coppi's, 1414 U St. NW, Washington, DC (the zip code I think is 20009)
